Marriage, Microsoft and Mentorship with Sharad Khare

Sharad Khare, a Man with Charisma and Wisdom

This blog post isn’t about teaching you how to have a better conversation. It’s about a conversation I had with a good friend of mine and some of the wisdom that he departed on me, that I wanted to share some of that wisdom with you.

A few weeks ago I was looking for some guidance on how to improve my Internet presence and how to become a better Internet marketer. One of the people I contacted was Sharad Khare. Sharad’s a good friend of mine and we’ve done public speaking at events in the past together.

Sharad is charismatic. He’s easy to get along with and I have always felt that he has treated me as his equal and he’s so good at meaking me feel at I have a lot of respect for him.

The great thing about our conversation was that I didn’t even need to ask the questions I had in mind, he already knew what I was going to ask. He understood the life situations and challenges that I was going through. He addressed them all. I almost believe he was psychic. But during our conversation we talked about marriage, Microsoft and mentorship and how they all relate to success in life.

Use Marriage as a Motivator not a Fear Factor:

When Sharad and I sat down, I talked to him about my fear of getting married. Not about being married to my current girlfriend, but all the financial responsibilities and all the stresses that come from trying to give the woman I love everything she’s always wanted.

He told me that as long as I keep moving forward that my life will be fine. As long as I keep progressing that things will work out great. He told me that he sympathizes with my current situation because when he was 26 he was working as a bank teller when he married his wife. He didn’t exactly know how he was going to make a financial income that would create a great life for both him and his wife. He was humbling and even told me that for the first three years of his marriage that they both lived with his parents.

With hard work, dedication to his relationship, and a never ending willingness to progress his income increased by a lot.

Ultimately he told me that money will come my way. That my marriage will be great I keep making progress in life, and that I never forget what kind of legacy I want to have with my own girlfriend. She has to be a priority in my life above all else.

The most important advice he gave me was that not to use marriage as a way to get stressed, but to use marriage as a way to motivate myself to be more. To get motivated to provide the best for my girlfriend, and to get motivated to live my life to the highest standard.

What do Passion and Microsoft have in Common?

Sharad has a blog he runs called Sharad’s Lunch box . It was designed to be a blog where you get to watch interviews of interesting people. He’s interviewed billionaire and former head honcho of Bodog, Calvin Arye.

Now the question is what does all this have to do with Microsoft exactly?

Sharad loves to interview people, he’s great in front of the camera, he does his own editing and production, and he creates his video blog because he loves doing it. He loves finding interesting people, getting to know who they are, and getting them to talk about whatever they want. He finds a way to make them feel at ease, valued and he does it absolutely for free.

There are no strings attached. What makes this interesting is that his video blog ended up getting noticed by a large internet marketing company which won’t be named. But what ended up happening was that the company ended up representing a large client. That’s right…it was Microsoft.

They loved Sharad’s video’s. They loved that he produced his own stuff. They loved that he was so passionate at what he was doing that they gave him the contract.

Sharad wasn’t expecting to do instructional Microsoft videos where there are 41 million people globally watching his videos, but his passion and dedication to provide the best content and best production led to a that great opportunity.

Do what you love, provide value, and find a way to make it visible to others, and others will find you. That’s what I got from our talk about promoting social media.

Mentorship. Look for Great Mentors

I consider Sharad as a mentor of mine. He’s been where I’ve been. He’s more successful than I am. He’s a much better speaker than I am. And he has more wisdom than myself. One of the pieces of wisdom he departed on me was the importance of having a mentors. Mentors can help us grow stronger, they can offer advice and guidance to bring us back on a path the feels alive and right.

When I felt lost, it was Sharad who brought me back. He was the one giving me assurance that I was doing the right thing. He was sharing stories of success and what I needed to do to get people to notice me. And I’ve taken his advice strongly to heart. That’s why I’m writing this blog.

He says that everybody should go out and find five mentors. And I agree, I don’t have five myself. But I am looking for more people who are are driven to create a high quality of life for themselves. If I had five people like Sharad in my life, who were willing to give me their time, their expertise, and their friendship, then I know that my life would be so much more.

I wanted to share with all my readers the knowledge that Sharad Khare was able to offer me. And I’m hoping it will help you as well in your journey if you feel lost.

How about you, what are your thoughts about marriage, mentorship and living your life with passion?
